Lopez Library Archives: Early Streetcar and Electric Service (1904-1920’s)
The Meralco tranvia became part of the Manila scene. It reached out to areas which were only promises of development. It stirred the city to new activity by providing cheap and rapid transportation for all classes of people. The system was described as state-of-the-art and second to none in East Asia.
